Pussmester AS is a facade contractor in Oslo. We renovate render, brick and concrete facades for housing co-operatives (borettslag), condominiums (sameier) and commercial buildings, and we can take the whole job as a total contractor: condition assessment, scaffolding, repairs, surface treatment and a documented final inspection. We are a certified master craftsman company (mesterbedrift) with more than 20 years of experience and over 60 permanent employees. Every project starts with a free, no-obligation inspection.

Why property owners choose Pussmester

How a facade renovation works

  1. 01

    Inspection and condition assessment

We map the damage, the facade type and the cause, not just the symptoms.

  2. 02

    Quote and schedule

A fixed price and a clear timeline, so the board has a sound basis for its decision.

  3. 03

    Rigging and scaffolding

Safe access. Scaffolding often makes up 20 to 25 percent of the total cost.

  4. 04

    Repairs

Render, brick or concrete is repaired, and damaged material is replaced.

  5. 05

    Surface treatment

Render, slurry coat, paint or water-repellent treatment suited to the facade.

  6. 06

    Final inspection and documentation

You get a finished, moisture-proof facade, and the documentation for it.

For housing co-ops and condominiums

Most of our clients are the boards of housing co-operatives (borettslag) and condominiums (sameier). After the inspection we deliver a report the board can present to the general meeting, followed by a fixed price and a schedule. The co-op has one permanent contact person with us for the whole project.

Residents can stay at home throughout. The work is done from scaffolding outside, and we notify residents before noisy work and before each new phase. A typical co-op project takes 6 to 16 weeks, depending on scope, facade type and access.

Frequently asked questions

Which company should I contact to renovate a facade in Oslo?
Look for a facade contractor that can assess, repair and finish the facade under one contract, and ask for a fixed-price quote after an inspection. Pussmester AS does this for housing co-ops, condominiums and commercial buildings in Oslo and the surrounding area (Bærum, Asker, Lillestrøm and Nordre Follo). Call +47 22 53 53 24 or email post@pussmester.no to book a free inspection.
What should a facade renovation quote include?
Scaffolding and rigging, repair of damaged render, brick or concrete, the surface treatment, any permit or heritage requirements, the warranty, a schedule and a fixed total price including VAT. Ask for a price based on an inspection of the building.
Do I need a permit to renovate a facade in Oslo?
Maintenance that does not change the building's appearance normally does not require a permit. Changes to protected buildings may require a statement from Byantikvaren, the Oslo heritage authority, and we help with that process.
How long does a facade renovation take?
A typical housing co-op project takes 6 to 16 weeks, depending on scope, facade type and access.
Can residents stay at home during the work?
Yes. The work is done from scaffolding outside. We notify residents in good time before noisy work, or when balconies and windows need to stay closed for a period.
How much does facade renovation cost?
It depends on the facade type, the extent of the damage, the scaffolding needed and any permit requirements. That is why we give a fixed price after a free inspection, instead of a number that does not fit your building.
Do you give a warranty?
Yes. We give a warranty on completed work and use documented material systems from Weber, Sto and Corteco, among others.
Do you work on listed and heritage buildings?
Yes. We specialise in historic masonry and lime-based materials, and we work to Byantikvaren's requirements.
